What makes AKS a fast and efficient way for businesses to improve their staffs’ foreign language skills? ... Better than traditional methodologies!

There are three main aspects that characterise and differentiate the AKS methodology from the more traditional language teaching techniques. The following is a brief description of the three ”building blocks” of AKS that makes it attractive to the international business community.

1. The AKS Environment

The key factor of AKS is to activate the student to make use of acquired language knowledge. This knowledge is brought to life by simulating real life situations through active role-play in a relaxed and stimulating educational environment.

The AKS representatives (teachers) are carefully recruited and trained to meet the high standards of the AKS educational programme. In order to support the AKS concept, the representatives are all foreign natives, with high presentation and inter-personal skills, coupled with experience of the foreign country’s modern business environment and social culture.

2. The AKS Customised & Context-based Training Material

The AKS unique training approach is supported by easy to follow documentation, customised to each group of participants, depending on the business in which the students are supposed to practise their improved foreign language skills and of course on each individual’s working situation.

AKS is focusing on communication skills and real-life situations in today’s modern business environment. The training material supports the students throughout with all exercises and dialogues being explained and documented in both the target language and the student’s mother tongue. Remarks are made parallel to the text, concerning grammar, vocabulary and special expressions, to facilitate uninterrupted reading and high impact learning. The student is aided by the material during and after the training with possibility to further personalise the material to reflect the individual’s practical need for language skills to manage specific situations. Moreover the AKS material extends to explain and involve the typical national business rules and cross-cultural differences that are vital for student’s success in acting confidently with foreign business partners.

3. The AKS Objective

Businesses want measurable results from their investments. Language training is no different but traditionally it has perhaps not been structured and disciplined in its approach. An integral part of the AKS Educational Programme is the pre-class objective definition per individual participating in an AKS Training Course. The aim is to assess the short, medium and long term goals per student and to monitor closely the achieved result at the end of each educational course. Furthermore the AKS-Rapport System includes an elaborate and regular follow-up on participation, motivation and attendance. This appraisal system is typically made available in confidence to the manager responsible of human resources and to the line manager expecting the newly acquired language skills investment to improve the bottom line!
